As Canadian Artist of the Year Chantal was invited to help announce funding from the provincial government which will go toward a youth art instructional program being launched by the Niagara Pumphouse Visual Art Centre.  Chantal explained to the enthusiastic crowd how important encouragement by parents and teachers was in kindling her love of art at the age of 6. |
 After the ceremonies Chantal shared some time with children already taking part in programs at The Pumphouse. |
